 Motor too small October 6, 2009

The motor isn't powerful enough. The ice cream starts freezing to the outside edge of the container causing the motor to quit when the bulk of the ice cream is still liquid.

After mixing up a batch of ingredients, I find that the unit came with gears locked up and motor jamed, I was able to free up the motor by loosening abot 9 screws and adjusting the gears but it would still lock up or gears not mesh after doing this twice. Returned this faulty unit

Had to replace old ice cream maker with this new one. I always make ice cream for a big group, so this does the trick. Plus this one uses a lot less ice than the old one.

I was in Creede, Co. without an ice cream maker. Went to the hardware and bought the Rival 8806-
Bl-6-Quart Ice Cream Maker for my cabin. Was skeptical because of the shape,or it's ability to freeze hard enough.It was so great. Couldn't wait to get home to purchase one for our home. Bought it on Amazon.com for half the price I paid in Creede,Co. It makes great ice cream, and freezes hard and also quickly. Can't go wrong with this product. John

The design has changed substantially, but the quality of ice cream is still great! Uses less ice than the previous round tub.
